By accessing or using AI Mechanic, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our service.

AI Mechanic provides an AI-powered vehicle diagnostic assistance service that includes:

• AI-powered diagnostic conversations for vehicle fault analysis
• DVLA vehicle registration lookups
• Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) interpretation
• Knowledge base access for repair information
• Team collaboration features (Garage Lite and Garage Pro tiers)

Labour rate estimates used by our AI are based on typical UK market rates:

• Independent garage: £60 - £120 per hour
• Mobile mechanic: £40 - £80 per hour
• Franchised dealer: £100 - £180 per hour

These rates are indicative only and actual rates in your area may differ.

5. User Accounts

5.1 Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised account access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

5.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse our service.

6. Subscription and Billing

6.1 Subscription Tiers

We offer multiple subscription tiers with varying features and usage limits. Details of each tier are available on our pricing page.

6.2 Payment Terms

• Payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable
• You authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis

6.3 Refund Policy

6.4 Usage Limits

Each subscription tier has monthly usage limits for AI diagnoses and VRM lookups. Limits reset on your billing date. Unused allowances do not roll over.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Share account credentials with unauthorised parties
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data
• Resell or redistribute our service without permission
• Upload malicious content or interfere with service operation
• Use VRM lookups for purposes unrelated to vehicle diagnostics

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of AI Mechanic, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are the exclusive property of AI Mechanic Ltd and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (vehicle information, feedback), but grant us a licence to use this data to provide and improve our services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• AI Mechanic is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated diagnostic information or price estimates
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AI Mechanic Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:

• Perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable notice
• Experience unplanned downtime due to technical issues
• Modify or discontinue features with appropriate notice

12. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

• You retain access until the end of your current billing period
• No partial refunds are provided for unused time
• Your data will be retained according to our Privacy Policy

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
